Hayate Alexander
Hayate Alexander grew up in Portland and began their dance training at The Portland Ballet, where they performed works by George Balanchine, John Clifford, Tom Gold, and TPB artistic staff. They furthered their training through summer programs at The Jillana School, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boston Ballet, Ballet West, and Open Space. Hayate joined BodyVox’s Junior Artist Generators in Fall 2024, while also joining the Patron Services team and Youth Teacher staff. Through JAG, Hayate had the opportunity to perform with BodyVox in their productions of BloodyVox and Death & Delight in addition to works by BodyVox Artistic Directors Jamey Hampton and Ashley Roland, and choreographers Carlyn Hudson, Vanessa Thiessen, and Elenaluisa Alvarez. In addition to dancing at BodyVox, Hayate performs in local shows in and around Portland and is a student at Portland Community College. Hayate is thrilled to be joining BodyVox as a company member this season!

Grace Armstrong (She/Her)
Grace Armstrong is from Seattle, Washington, where she began her training with Olympic Ballet School. In 2020, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Ballet and Arts Management from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. While at IU, she studied under renowned artists including Carla Körbes, Kyra Nichols, Michael Vernon, Sasha Janes, and Sarah Wroth. She performed notable roles in works such as Martha Graham’s Diversion of Angels, George Balanchine’s Walpurgisnacht, Jerome Robbins’ Antique Epigraphs, and Antony Tudor’s Dark Elegies.
After graduation, she joined Oregon Ballet Theatre II, performing company roles in productions including Ben Stevenson’s Dracula, George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, and Christopher Stowell’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Since then, Grace has been freelancing with companies and choreographers across the country, with performances including the world premiere of Raffaella (A New Fairytale Ballet), choreographed by Claire Kretzschmar.

Aimee Brotten (She/Her)
Born and raised in Marysville, Washington, Aimee Brotten grew up dancing competitively and training in a wide variety of styles. She graduated from the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Business. During her time at USC, she performed repertoire by Jiří Kylián, Dwight Rhoden, and Paul Taylor, while dancing in new works by Doug Varone, Hope Boykin, and Caili Quan. In 2023, Aimee performed as a guest artist with A.I.M by Kyle Abraham in their program at The Joyce Theater, and danced in works by both Kyle Abraham and Nina Flagg during USC Kaufman’s debut at Jacob’s Pillow. She also danced with Spectrum Dance Theater under the direction of Donald Byrd. She is excited to start her journey with BodyVox in Fall of 2025.

Daniel Kirk (He/His)
Daniel Kirk has extensive performance experience both nationally and internationally. His technique ranges from classical ballet to contemporary to innovative theatrical and aerial work.
After nine years with Oregon Ballet Theatre, he has performed many ballets by director James Canfield and the late Dennis Spaight. Considered to be one of the finest partners, Lewis Segal of the L.A. Times has called him a classically gifted artist as well as a paragon of dance. Daniel and Eric Skinner are co-founders of the skinner/kirk DANCE ENSEMBLE, a contemporary dance company in Portland. Daniel is a founding member of BodyVox.

Brent Luebbert (He/His)
Brent was born in Portland and raised in the area. He attended Point Park University and graduated with a BFA in Dance. Since then he has worked with the Pillow Project, Attack Theatre, Eowyn Emerald & Dancers, skinner|kirk dance ensemble, Washington Dance Creative, and BodyVox. Through these companies he has been lucky enough to tour internationally to France, England, Germany, and China as well as around the US including extensive touring in Alaska.
Brent is also the BodyVox Artistic Associate.

Brian Nelson (He/His)
Brian is a movement theater artist originally from Tridell, Utah. He is thrilled to be returning to Bodyvox. He holds a BFA in Ballet with a minor in Modern Dance from the University of Utah. Theater credits include: The National Tour of Cats, Tuacahn, Pioneer Theater Company, and the Utah Shakespeare Festival. Dance Credits include: Ririe-Woodbury, Now-ID, and the Municipal Ballet.

Aaron Peite (He/They)
Aaron Peite grew up in a small mining community in rural northern Idaho. Aaron started their dance training at the age of 15 with Joni Damiano Bartel. Later, Aaron graduated from Idaho State University (ISU) with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance: Choreography and Performance. Aaron moved to Portland, Oregon, in 2019 and joined Shaun Keylock Company (SKC). While with SKC, Aaron had the opportunity to perform original works by Shaun Keylock as well as be part of an archival project restaging the work of Greg Bielemner. SKC also provided opposites for Aaron to perform solo work at Ten Tiny Dances and was selected as one of the two dancers in The Portland Opera's premiere of When the Sun Comes Out.

Haiou Wang
Haiou Wang is a traditional Chinese-Korean dancer and educator specializing in East Asian dance and history. Born in Jilin, China, he began formal training at age 11 at Minzu University in Beijing, where he focused on Chinese ethnic dance. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Dance Education from Minzu University in 2008 and a master’s in Korean Traditional Dance from Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul in 2012.
Haiou has performed with the Korea National Dance Company and choreographed for the renowned ChangMu Dance Company under Kim Mae-ja. His work honors cultural heritage while carrying traditional forms into the future.
In 2013, he returned to China as associate professor and department head of East Asian Art History at Hangzhou University, combining academic leadership with artistic mentorship. Internationally recognized, he has received numerous awards and performed across Asia, Europe, and the United States, where he continues to enrich cultural life through performances and workshops.
Beyond dance, Haiou is a visual artist who holds a profound appreciation for the practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Through his multifaceted artistry, he bridges movement, cultural history, and holistic wellness.
