Opting to Be Pulled was developed from a longer stage ballet inspired by the 1983 large scale painting, Pas De Deux, by Alex Katz, which is in the permanent collection of the Colby Museum of Art. The piece translates the static image of five couples into five distinct, but related duets. Opting to be Pulled premiered in 2023 at the Guggenheim Museum in a symposium in conjunction with the exhibition Alex Katz: Gathering.
