ALANA RAE STUBBS

TEACHER

Alana Rae grew up in Salt Lake City, UT, where their passion for dance began after seeing The Nutcracker for the first time at the age of seven. They trained with Ballet West Academy under the direction of Jennie Creer-King, refining their ballet and pointe technique while also competing in Latin Ballroom through their public school. In 2016, Alana attended the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts, where they discovered modern dance and choreography — a turning point that expanded their creative voice. After graduation, Alana moved across the country to attend the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, earning a BFA in Contemporary Dance in 2023. During their studies, they created and presented multiple original works, including five live performances in the Boston area, a dance film, and a duet both premiered in
Utah. Their choreography has been presented at venues including the Boston Conservatory, the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, and the Complex @ Canal. As a performer, Alana has danced with Stoneworks Dance Production (Boston, MA) and Chrysalis Ballet Theater (Salt Lake City, UT). They joined push/FOLD as a company member in 2023. Outside of the studio, Alana finds inspiration in the outdoors — canyoneering, climbing, skiing, and backpacking with their dog. The rhythms and textures of nature inform their creative process, shaping an artistic voice rooted in exploration, spontaneity, and connection.
